# Cerro Tronador

El cerro Tronador es un volcán geológicamente inactivo; su origen está asociado al proceso de formación de los Andes en el periodo Pleistoceno, comenzando hace aproximadamente 1.3 millones de años y terminando hace 340000 años. It is located in the southern part of the Andes Mountain Range, on the border between Argentina and Chile near the city of Bariloche, Argentina. This mountain over the years has suffered an important erosive action product of the glaciers that are located on it, so it has steepened and reduced its slopes to almost lose the shape of a typical volcano. The Tronador separates two national parks: the Vicente Pérez Rosales in the province of Llanquihue, Chile, and the Nahuel Huapi, in Río Negro and Neuquén, Argentina.
