Champéry at a glance
The village is situated at 1050 m in the Chablais region at the foot of the Dents-du-Midi and the Dents Blanches and is one of Switzerland's oldest tourist destinations. Along the village street are numerous traditional chalets with their carved balconies and typical roofs, while visitors are delighted by the charming little shops, bars and restaurants. In the village is one of Switzerland's few bell-foundries still remaining in production.
Today you can get out of the train and straight into the large carriages of the cableway to Planachaux (Croix de Culet) – and the jagged peaks of the Dents du Midi opposite never cease to amaze.

Bikers get their thrills conquering the 300 kilometers of signposted stretches in the Bikepark – while from Planachaux, hikers delight in exploring the Ripaille, Col de Cou and Barme regions before turning back to Champéry via Grand Paradis.
The Portes du Soleil has many wonderfully broad, relatively easy-to-navigate slopes. However, Europe’s largest winter sports area also has another face, such as the eastern slope of the Pas de Chavanette. There, a superlative mogul piste has been created that the French have respectfully called "le mur suisse". Because it is extremely steep (37 degree slope) and has, after new snow falls, moguls of up to 2m high, this treacherous "wall" is only suitable for very experienced skiers.
