# Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach

The Zillertal Railway, running from Jenbach to Mayrhofen, also stops at Kaltenbach and stands for a particular train ride, a travel back in time with this narrow-gauge railway. Worth to be visited are two chapels in the municipal area, the St. Mary's Chapel and the Hubertus Chapel.  The war memorial at the forefront of the chapel was established by the well-known sculptor Hans Rieser from Hippach.
In summer, the hiking area Hochzillertal is located along the Zillertaler Höhenstrasse, one of the most beautiful Alpine roads of Austria. Following the road to the Kaltenbach Mountain Hut at 1,800 m a.s.l., in a 30-minutes' walk you can reach the Alpine Flower Garden. The refuge itself offers with the Marmot Park Zillertal a special place for kids. In winter, skiing in the Hochfügen Ski Region, Ice Disco in the evening on the Fügen-Kaltenbach ice skating ground, and cross-country skiing on the Hochzillertal high-altitude trail are on the agenda in Kaltenbach.
