# Aspen

Aspen and Snowmass have risen to prominence thanks to their incredible skiing opportunities, with four individual mountains - Snowmass, Aspen, Highlands and Buttermilk - offering a total of 2232 hectares of ski terrain within a few kilometres of each other. Aspen Mountain is located in the bustling centre of Aspen, while Snowmass offers slopes for experts and newcomers alike. Buttermilk is best known as the site of the Winter X Games, while Highlands is a favourite with expert skiers who climb to the top of Highland Bowl.
In summer, chairlifts at both Aspen Mountain and Snowmass take tourists up to the trails, disc golf courses and outdoor playgrounds for kids. Don't miss the Sundeck Restaurant, renowned for its panoramic view and top-quality American and Asian food at the top of Aspen Mountain. At Snowmass, 145 kilometres of mountain biking trails include cross-country or lift-served terrain. These are part of the valley's Gold-Level Ride Center as designated by the International Mountain Bicycling Association, one of seven in the world. Family activities include an alpine roller coaster, ropes courses and climbing walls. Don't miss out on the local meals that the Elk Camp restaurant has to offer, including an organic dinner available every Tuesday.
