# Rosario

Rosario is an important port city in Argentina, 300 km north along the Paraná River from the capital, Buenos Aires. The Monumento Nacional a la Bandera is a huge riverside complex with an obelisk commemorating the historic first raising of the national flag during Argentina's War of Independence in the 19th century. In Independence Park, the Juan B. Castagnino Museum of Fine Arts exhibits an outstanding collection of European and Argentine works.
