# Valtournenche

A dream place for skiers at the foot of the Matterhorn. It is one of the main reference points in Italy for skiing enthusiasts: Breuil-Cervinia, a village in the municipality of Valtournenche in the Aosta Valley, lies at the foot of the Matterhorn, 2000 metres above sea level, and boasts one of the most exciting ski areas in the Alps, the Cervino Ski Paradise. The winter season starts in early October and runs until May, offering young and old the opportunity to enjoy holidays and getaways among 322 kilometres of ski and snowboard slopes and 51 lifts ranging from 1500 to 3899 metres above sea level.
Valtournenche remains a paradise to be discovered even during the summer season, with endless possibilities for excursions to discover villages such as La Magdeleine and naturalistic gems such as the Blue Lake at the gates of Cervinia, the Marmitte dei Giganti and the Grotte delle Busserailles, as well as the Lake of Maen and the Lake of Lod. Lovers of shopping and haute couture cannot fail to be tempted by the streets of the historic centre of Breuil-Cervinia and Valtournenche, taking a few breaks to discover the gastronomy and wines of the Aosta Valley.
