# Montchavin

Anyone who comes to Montchavin today for a skiing holiday will find it hard to believe that in the early 1970s this rural village was almost deserted. At 1,250 metres above sea level, the village had just over 10 inhabitants before it was redeveloped to become a welcoming destination for winter sports enthusiasts. Today, Montchavin is an authentic alpine village that has retained its original charm. Traditional chalets and flats made of stone and wood, as well as small cobbled streets, characterise the image of the small village in the middle of forests. Montchavin is also, together with Les Coches, the focal point of the huge Paradiski ski area, which straddles these two villages. In a relaxed atmosphere and away from the hustle and bustle, skiers can take advantage of the huge area with its almost 250 pistes.
