# Mühlbach

The Pongau municipality of Mühlbach am Hochkönig, with approximately 1,500 residents, is part of the Hochkönig region. This picturesque village is surrounded by the bizarre cliffs of the Mandlwände and the Hochkönig – a true natural paradise for skiers and families with rustic huts, perfectly groomed slopes, and stunning views.

The family-friendly mountain village of Mühlbach am Hochkönig looks back on a copper mining history spanning over 4,000 years. Until 1977, copper mining dominated the area, and evidence of this history can still be found today, for example, in the Mining Museum with its exhibition tunnels.

Under the nickname “ Mountain Village of AnimalsMühlbach is also known for its "highland" culture, whether on the alpine pastures, the countless farms and pastures, or the petting zoos. Throughout the village, you'll encounter four-legged and feathered friends, embark on a hike along the ant trail, or peer over the shoulders of farmers at the open barn door. The " Livingroom Snowpark " – in the small, independent family ski area of ​​Hochkeil – offers all boarders a wide range of sports. The 1.8 km long "Kings Park" in Mühlbach also ensures sporting heights.
