# Salta

Province of Salta Its capital is the homonymous Salta. It is located in the northwest of the country, bordering to the north with the province of Jujuy and with the departments of Potosí and Tarija, in Bolivia. Five different landscapes can be distinguished, from west to east, Western Cordillera The Western Cordillera is adjacent to the Altiplano, it is the highest and has ice-covered peaks up to 5000 m above sea level. Below the snow level, glacial cirques of the last glaciation can be observed. Puna or Altiplano (to the west).
