# Andorra la Vella

Andorra la Vella is the capital of Andorra, in the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain. It is known as a shopping centre, with several shops on Avinguda Meritxell. The church of Sant Esteve, from the 12th century, has altarpieces of baroque origin. The Casa de la Vall, built in 1580 and former seat of parliament, has 16th and 17th century murals. Nearby, the Vallnord area has resorts with trails for winter sports, as well as a cycling park.
