# Ortisei

Ortisei is an Italian municipality in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. Ortisei is the main town in Val Gardena, with a large part of its population speaking Ladin as their mother tongue, 12.13% German and 5.55% Italian. In the village of Ortisei (St. Ulrich Dorf) you will reach the centre of the village, overlooked by the baroque church of St. Ulrich. This is also the starting point of the valley's most famous shopping street, which, lined with numerous shops and small cafés, stretches all the way to the church of St. Anthony on the main square. The village is surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Dolomites. A cable car takes you to the Siusi plateau (Seiser Alm - Mont Sëuc) and another to the Sëceda. A chairlift leads to the Rasciesa - Raschötz. Other chairlifts are used exclusively to access the ski slopes and are therefore closed during the summer season.
