# Le Grand Bornand Chinaillion

At an altitude of 1,300 metres, Le Grand Bornand Chinaillion is the central resort of the piste territory of the same name, from which most of the lifts start and most of the pistes end. Two gondolas take skiers from the foot of Le Grand Bornand Chinaillion up to 1,000 metres, where the piste territory is located. The two resorts are six kilometres from each other and a free shuttle bus connects them. Le Grand Bornand Chinaillion, on the other hand, is like a museum under the open sky. The rural village, where the history of Le Grand Bornand began and which today belongs to Chinaillon, comprises no less than 400 chalets, which are at least a hundred years old. The oldest building dates back to 1664. In order to preserve this special charm, all the recent buildings of Le Grand Bornand are oriented towards the original architectural style, so that the site retains a harmonious style.
