# Les Coches

Unlike the nearby resort of Montchavin, which is only 3 km away and 200 metres lower, the roots of the small ski village of Les Coches go back only to the 1980s. Unlike Montchavin, which has developed from a mountain village into a modern tourist destination, Les Coches was founded in 1981, in the middle of larch forests, at 1,450 metres above sea level. Even so, the small village is characterised by traditional and regional architecture and offers the same atmosphere as other ‘more traditional’ destinations. This is mainly due to the wooden chalets that are grouped in a semicircle around the mountainside, as well as the paths that run through the village. In addition to this pleasant atmosphere, Les Coches has all the advantages of a modern ski resort such as short runs to the slopes, plenty of activities for children and many other leisure activities. And all this without forgetting the privileged views of Mont Blanc.
