# Punta Arenas

Punta Arenas is a city near the southernmost tip of Chilean Patagonia. It is located on the Strait of Magellan, which connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, and is often used as a base for excursions to the surrounding wilderness and Antarctica. The Plaza Muñoz Gamero has a monument to the explorer Fernando de Magallanes and the Nao Victoria Museum includes a replica of one of his galleons.
