# Dienten

At the foot of the Hochkönig lies the idyllic Pinzgau resort of Dienten, with a population of around 800. This "village" showcases the romantic side of the Hochkönig mountains. Glittering snow and the Hochkönig massif provide a unique backdrop for dreamy ski runs and cozy mountain huts.

Here, at the foot of the majestic Hochkönig, lie 340 km of well-maintained hiking trails, including the majestic Königsweg (74 km) and a section of the Via Alpina, which leads from Trieste to Monaco. The "hut-to-hut" tour is also particularly beautiful, where you can thoroughly enjoy the panorama and the region's hearty cuisine.
Dienten is also the ideal starting point for climbing adventures in the Hochkönig region. Summer here offers very special stories. Legends of the Devil's Holes or the Übergossene Alm. On the legendary hikes around the town, you can literally hike through twelve legends.
Dienten is centrally located in the Hochkönig ski region . The lifts terminate in the center of town. Skiing days among the majestic peaks of the Hochkönig and tobogganing nights on the illuminated toboggan run at the Grünegg Alm provide a thrilling experience. The Königstour in the Hochkönig ski region can be mentioned in the same breath as the Sella Ronda, or the White Ring. Six peaks, 35 kilometers of continuous slopes, make this ski circuit an impressive experience. A very special slope is the "Marlies Schild Race Track" at the Bürglalm lift.
