# Benasque

The spectacular surroundings make the Benasque Valley an ideal place for the practice of multiple sporting activities both in summer and winter.
The town is located in the old county of Ribagorza, formed mainly by the valleys surrounding the river Esera. Benasque is surrounded by the highest concentration of peaks above 3,000 metres in the whole Pyrenees, including the Aneto peak at 3,404 metres. The nearby village of Cerler is the highest ski resort in the Aragonese Pyrenees. In Benasque, we can contemplate some very interesting mansions, such as the palace of the Counts of Ribagorza, the Casa Marcial del Río, the Casa Juste, the Casa Faure and the church of Santa María la Mayor. The whole area is dotted with Romanesque buildings and bordas, typical Pyrenean constructions. In its modern urban centre we find an outstanding tourist infrastructure.
