# Brunico / Riscone

Brunico is an enchanting destination, in all seasons, not only because it is nestled in the green Val Pusteria, full of breathtaking hiking trails, but also because with its medieval alleys it is certainly picturesque, skilfully blending art and culture.
Voted the most liveable town in Italy in 2009, Brunico is a living nativity scene 365 days a year. Attentive to every detail, elegant and characteristic at the same time, it is a place that conveys tranquillity, but also knows how to have fun with and without skis. Brunico is a mountain, so a visit can only start from here. We are talking about the Corones and Ripa museums, both designed by Reinhold Messner, one of the most famous mountaineers in the world, also known as ‘the king of the eight-thousanders’. Both are located on high ground and offer an enviable panorama. The MMM Corones structure is located on the summit of the mountain of the same name, Plan de Corones, at an altitude of 2275 metres. Designed by the architect Zaha Hadid, it reflects well the author's intention, creating a space that addresses the reality of the mountain, seen up close. In fact, the museum is dedicated to the history of traditional mountaineering and the life of climbers.
