# Marmolada

The Marmolada, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is known as the Queen of the Dolomites. Located between the provinces of Belluno and Trento, this mountain group is the highest in the Dolomites, with a peak, Punta Penia, reaching 3343 metres above sea level. 
It is also the most popular with winter sports enthusiasts. In fact, Marmolada is home to one of the most picturesque ski areas in the Dolomites, the Marmolada ski resort, with the longest piste in the Dolomites: the Bellunese, a 12-kilometre run that crosses the famous Marmolada glacier, the largest glacial apparatus in the Dolomites, up to Passo Fedaia and Malga Ciapela.
The modern ski lifts that cover the area are active in both winter and summer, when the Marmolada remains a popular destination for hikers and mountain bikers. You can enjoy miles and miles of trails through forests and hillsides surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in Italy.
