# Breuil / Cervinia

It is not only one of the most famous high mountain resorts in the Aosta Valley, but also a tourist destination of great international importance. We are talking about Breuil-Cervinia, a modern tourist resort at the foot of the Matterhorn that is very popular in both winter and summer, with trails suitable for all levels. On the approximately 90 km of trails between snowfields, moraines and meadows, there are also routes suitable for e-bikes.
Its ski resort, one of the largest in the Alps, is connected to the Valtournenche and Swiss ski slopes of Zermatt, where you can ski on the ice even in summer.
On skis or on foot, with the right equipment and accompanied by expert guides, you can reach the Grotta di ghiaccio, one of the Alpine wonders. Visit the museum ‘A mountain of work’ on the Plateau Rosà, at an altitude of 3500 metres, where you can see photographs and costumes that tell the story of the construction of the Plateau Rosà and Furggen cable cars.
In the village, stop at the Capanna Luigi Amedeo di Savoia, once a high altitude refuge and now a museum dedicated to the history of mountaineering.
Golfing a passion? At Lake Layet, better known as the Blue Lake of the Matterhorn, dominated by the Great Becca, you can play on an 18-hole course, over 5 km long and one of the highest in Europe.
