Maria Alm, holiday on the majestic Hochkönig massif
with the two mountain villages of Hintermoos and Hinterthal, has around 2,150 inhabitants and has retained its charming, village-like character. In winter, the ski region attracts visitors with 120 kilometers of connected slopes.

The holiday resort of Maria Alm is located in the middle of the majestic mountains of the Steinernes Meer, the Hochkönig and the Pinzgauer Grasberge. Around the highest church tower in the state of Salzburg, tradition and customs are an integral part of village life. 
In summer, Maria Alm is a paradise for hikers and bikers . There are almost endless possibilities on the numerous tours, theme paths and trails. And the cable cars ensure a safe and comfortable way up or down. You can ride your mountain bike downhill at high speed on the flow trail on the Prinzenberg Natrun or slide down the world's first forest slide park. The sporting highlights in Maria Alm are unique in summer. The HochkönigMan - a breathtaking trail running event - opens the sporting summer, followed by "Hundstoa biag di" - the toughest mountain bike uphill race in Pinzgau - and the "Jakobiranggeln" on the 2,117 m high Hundsstein.
In the cold winter months, winter sports reign supreme in the holiday resort of Maria AlmThe ski region offers 120 kilometers of connected slopes with perfectly groomed runs, 40 km of groomed cross-country ski trails, night skiing, illuminated toboggan runs and curling runs, as well as numerous romantic winter hiking trails.  Maria Alm also offers the opportunity for night skiing and scores points with the Schönanger Funslope and the Natrun Beginners Park. The royal winter sports offer is also used every winter by the international FIS national ski teams, who regularly come to Maria Alm for their training.
