# Panticosa

In the Alto Gállego region, towards the bottom of the Tena valley, lies Panticosa, a first-class tourist resort with an alpine and cross-country ski resort. Panticosa is a charming village situated on the course of the Caldarés River, where the typicality is evident in the large stone houses and steep, narrow streets. It also has a church with a Romanesque base from the 13th century.
Surrounded by beautiful mountains, dotted with lakes and with several peaks of more than 3000 m, it is an ideal place to practice all kinds of mountain sports. Panticosa is known for its spa, which maintains its old luxury hotels, its promenades and its casinos and which was a holiday destination for the royalty of the time. And for its winter resort, whose slopes can be accessed from a wide esplanade at the foot of the river, from where the first chairlift starts. In summer, it is also possible to take a trip on the same chairlift to the lakes of Asnos and Sabocos.
