# Coyhaique

Coyhaique is a city in the Aysén region of Chile, known for being a gateway to remote parts of Patagonia. The rocky McKay Hill has crisscrossing trails and rises near the town. The craft market in the main square sells pottery and wool products. Just outside is the trout-filled Simpson River. West of town is the Simpson River National Reserve, with its forests and the Cascada de la Virgen waterfall, home to pumas and huemules.
