# San Martino di Castrozza

San Martino di Castrozza, a small Alpine centre in eastern Trentino, is a pearl in the heart of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town, which is part of the municipalities of Tonadico and Siror, rises at an altitude of 1450 metres above sea level on the slope of the majestic Pala Group.
The town boasts a tourist tradition, which began in the mid-19th century with the arrival of the first English and German climbers, enthusiastic about the magnificence of the Cimon della Pala, Vezzana, Rosetta and Sass Maor. San Martino is the ideal destination both for a family holiday and for anyone looking for sport and enjoyment.
Alpine skiing is the sporting discipline par excellence in San Martino di Castrozza. There are 60 kilometres of slopes in the San Martino and Passo Rolle resorts, located in the Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino Natural Park and included in the Dolomiti Superski circuit. Another outstanding resort is Colverde, with a 3 km slope that allows night skiing on certain days of the week. The panoramic views of Passo Rolle are only 9 km from San Martino di Castrozza and can be reached thanks to an efficient skibus system.
