# Les Deux Alpes

Where until about 1950 there was nothing but broad green alpine pastures, the second oldest winder sports village of France welcomes its guests today. Les Deux Alpes – as the name says – was created on the area of the two Alpine meadows of the lower villages Venosc and Mont-de-Lans and has meanwhile developed into one of the most popular skiing stations worldwide. As one of the oldest „skiing villages“ in France Les Deux Alpes at an altitude of 1.650 meters is still today characterized by traditional rustic buildings that blend in harmonically with modern architecture. Ski vacationers can therefore expect a cosy atmosphere as well as ideal comfort. At the same time Les Deux Alpes is characterized by international flair and offers a large and lively centre that invites you on shopping sprees and to relax. As all lifts and slopes come together in the centre of town, the main station of the skiing region with the same name Les Deux Alpes also scores with short distances and an XXL-slope network right in front of your door. The highlight of the skiing region is the largest glacier open for skiing in Europe, the Mont-de-Lans-glacier, its peak offering you an incomparable panorama onto the Mont Blanc, Massiv Central, Mont Ventoux and many more peaks.
